The 3rd Interfaith Iftar Dinner was held at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Fremont, bringing together community members, faith leaders, and local residents for an evening of dialogue, reflection, and fellowship. The event was jointly organized by Bay Area Cultural Connections (BAYCC), St. Paul United Methodist Church, Tri-City Interfaith Council, Pacifica Institute, and Tri-City Muslims, focusing on the theme “Healing the World” and encouraging interfaith understanding and community engagement. |

The program began with participants gathering at the Peace Pole, located in the common area and shared parking space between the church and the mosque, which stand side by side and share the same grounds. Organizers welcomed attendees and introduced the history of the Peace Pole, followed by a land acknowledgment and prayers led by faith leaders. |

The gathering then continued in the sanctuary with a Quran recitation and a presentation on the spiritual significance of Ramadan. Fremont Mayor Raj Salwan attended as a special guest and offered reflections on community engagement and interfaith cooperation. Community and faith leaders also addressed the audience, highlighting the meaning of “Healing the World” through spirituality, compassion, and care for one another. |

A highlight of the evening was the church choir’s performance of Michael Jackson’s “Healing the World,” reflecting the event’s central message. Participants later observed the breaking of the fast with traditional refreshments, followed by a community dinner that provided an opportunity for interaction and connection among attendees. As part of the program, participants who shared comments about the event on social media were recognized and presented with gifts. |
