On March 9, university students gathered at the Mountain View Senior Center to share iftar, learn about Ramadan, and meet new people.
The evening started with a welcome speech by Dr. Goknur, followed by a short talk on the Adhan. As the call to prayer signaled the time to break fast, everyone shared a meal and a moment of gratitude.
One student shared, “This wasn’t just a meal—it was a chance to connect with people I might not have met otherwise.” The iftar brought together students from different backgrounds, fostering conversations and new friendships in a warm and welcoming space.
After dinner, students joined interactive activities—writing reflections in a word cloud game, tasting Turkish coffee, and learning more about Ramadan at themed stations. A lighthearted Kahoot quiz wrapped up the night, with small prizes for the winners.
