Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Redwood City invited Dr Dogan, a Muslim scholar, to lead Sunday worship on 30th April. Dr.
Dr. Dogan delivered a talk on the Islamic Perspective on Death & Dying at an interfaith panel discussion organized by Peninsula Multifaith Coalition on 27th April.
Grace Cathedral of San Francisco hosted its traditional annual iftar dinner on 19th April, in collaboration with interfaith organizations. The theme for prayer, discussion, and reflection for this year was “Ramadan: The Month of Spirituality, Celebration, and Care for Community”.
Father Oscar Cantu, Bishop of the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Joseph (San Jose) hosted representatives of ING, BAYCC and Pacifica Institute for an iftar dinner at his residence on 17th April. The guests cherished the invitation and discussed future collaborative interfaith projects.
BAYCC, Pacifica Institute, and Los Altos United Methodist Church enjoy a longstanding relationship. The members participated in the Conversation Partner project, where families meet periodically.
Building Bridges Together Program Alumni from BAYCC, Pacifica Institute, Congregation Beth Am, and Christ Episcopal Church of Los Altos celebrated Easter, Passover, and Ramadan at Christ Episcopal Church of Los Altos on 14th April. The BBT program consisted of six sessions of interaction and learning about each other’s faith traditions.
Senator Dave Cortese was the keynote speaker at the Ramadan Iftar Dinner in Sacramento, California. Senator Ben Allen gave the closing remarks, followed by a Turkish coffee presentation.

Nurdin Kaparov, Lionel Engelman, Rabbi Daniel Feder, Fatih Kurtoglu, and Karen Wisialowski organized a joint Interfaith Iftar and Passover dinner at Peninsula Temple Sholom (PTS) in 2023, where Yilmaz Basak also spoke at the occasion. Peninsula Temple Sholom, Bay Area Cultural Connections, and Pacifica Institute organized the event.
BAYCC and Pacifica Institute organized Ramadan-Passover celebrations on the first Sunday of Ramadan, the 26th of March 2023, the guests enjoyed the talks, spiritual music performances, and dinner prepared by volunteers at the Congregation Netivot Shalom in Berkeley. Youthlink members organized a parallel event “Harnessing technology to empower women and young girls in the digital age” on March 15, Wed at 11:30 PM PDT, 2:30 PM EST at the Salvation Army in NY for the United Nations NGO CSW67. Three projects that aim to empower women and young girls through the use of technology have been presented.
We celebrated International Women’s Day on March 11, Saturday at Los Altos Library, Orchard Room with a “How Women Beautify the World”. The event was organized by Women Empowerment & Youthlink groups.
On Friday, February 24th 2023. Turkish and Afghan community members collaborated and carried out a food sale after Friday prayer in Salam Masjid, Sacramento, to raise funds for the Mobile Health Clinic project in Afghanistan.
On Sunday, February 18 2023, the BAYCC community in Sacramento came together for a fundraising brunch to support earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. Participants brought food and donated.
BAYCC hosted a uniquely personal iftar in Santa Clara One that brought together Muslim guests from Asia, Africa, and America, as well as a visitor from a Christian background. The evening was small in number but rich in meaning.

BAYCC and Pacifica Institute volunteers organized a Donation Drive by collecting essential items to be delivered to people in earthquake-affected regions of Turkey. The relief effort focused on helping with critical items like blankets, towels, heaters, hygiene products, etc.

Cooking Classes were one of the integral events at BAYCC’s cultural center in Sacramento. Participants learned one Turkish dish at a time.
BAYCC and Pacifica Institute volunteers joined sisters at Temple Beth El on Jan 21, Saturday to go through a creative process facilitated by Relli Siegel, a certified facilitator of the Open Studio Project. This process allowed participants to explore inner self in a relaxing, and supportive way.
