Celebrating Unity: Abrahamic Iftar Dinner & International Women’s Day We are honored to invite you to a special evening of reflection, friendship, and community. On Sunday, March 8, the Pacifica Institute, in collaboration with Saint Mark’s United Methodist Church and Congregation Beth Shalom, will host the Abrahamic Iftar Dinner at the Enver Community Center in Fair Oaks.
BAYCC and Pacifica Institute volunteers were honored to serve lunch at the Santa Clara Police Department on Friday, January 9, 2026, in celebration of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. The volunteers warmly congratulated the officers on this national day of recognition and expressed heartfelt gratitude for their dedication and service.
After COVID, we finally held our first fully English-driven language retreat, and it truly felt special—like reconnecting with an old rhythm we had missed for a long time. Collective Silent Reading & Text Study We began with something we hadn’t done collectively in a long time: collective silent reading.
Abrahamic Alliance International (AAi) brought together BAYCC, the Jewish Community Relations Council, and The River Church Community for a collaborative Thanksgiving meal service supporting unhoused neighbors in San Jose. Hosted at BAYCC on November 23, volunteers from Muslim, Jewish, and Christian communities united to carve turkeys, prepare mashed potatoes and salad, slice pumpkin pie, assemble 260 boxed Thanksgiving dinners, and prepare hot apple cider.
An event co-organized by Pacifica Institute, BAYCC, and Saint Mark’s Church took place with over 150 attendees. Participants included members of Saint Mark’s, BAYCC, other Muslim communities, representatives from Beth Shalom, and members of the Bahá’í community.
The Enver Community Center in Fair Oaks hosted a Thanksgiving Friendship Dinner that brought together community members, friends, and representatives of the interfaith community. The evening included a shared Thanksgiving meal, prayers for peace, and a gratitude-sharing session in which participants reflected on what they were thankful for.
A Creative and Spiritual Journey for Women and Children We were delighted to host a vibrant and creative workshop dedicated to exploring the first eight Words of the Risale-i Nur. Presented in Turkish, the program reintroduced these profound teachings through modern, imaginative, and interactive methods.
The 2025 Interfaith Thanksgiving Dinner, themed “Feast of Friendship and Gratitude: Building Communities Together,” was held on November 15, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Los Altos. BAYCC, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, SiVIC, and Pacifica Institute jointly organized the event.
BAYCC volunteers brought the Halloween spirit to Family Supportive Housing with a day filled with fun, laughter, and connection. On the evening of Friday, October 24, a dedicated team of volunteers visited the center to decorate the space with colorful balloons, pumpkins, spider webs, and festive Halloween touches.
Pacifica Institute, Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, and the Peninsula Multifaith Coalition co-hosted the second Seeking God Together Interfaith Gathering, bringing together people of many faiths for a day of dialogue, reflection, and fellowship at the Miwok Picnic Shelter in Huddart Park, Woodside, California. Held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, the event focused on the theme “Exploring God’s Beautiful Attributes Across Faith Traditions.
On Sunday, October 12, 2025, Pacifica Institute proudly hosted the Compassion Week Service Fest as part of the annual Compassion Week initiative — a community-wide effort uniting local faith communities and sponsors to build a stronger, more compassionate, and empathetic society. This year’s Service Fest was dedicated to the memory of Fethullah Gülen, honoring his lifelong commitment to service, education, and peace.
The 2025 West Platform Civic Convention brought together more than 200 Hizmet volunteers and community leaders from across 13 Western states for a weekend of reflection, collaboration, and forward planning. Hosted at Embassy Suites Milpitas and BAYCC, the gathering carried the theme Legacy in Action: Building Hizmet’s Future.
We recently held a presentation highlighting past and upcoming Youth Collective events, creating an opportunity for networking and building connections. The evening featured fun activities like Kahoot and Bingo, live music, and a shared dinner.

Movie Night Reflection: Faith Lessons from a Galaxy Far, Far Away Our community of young professionals recently gathered for an inspiring movie night featuring Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. Together, we followed the journey of a young explorer discovering courage, purpose, and destiny — and reflected on how these timeless themes mirror our own journeys of faith.
We visited the San Francisco Muslim Community Center, which was formerly the mosque of the late Imam Abu Qadir. The community is now led by Imam Na’il, and we had the chance to meet him.
Bay Area Cultural Connections (BAYCC) and Pacifica Institute hosted the second session of the Community Education Lecture Series in partnership with the Santa Clara Police Department (SCPD) on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the BAYCC Community Center in Santa Clara. The program aimed to strengthen connections between residents and law enforcement through open dialogue, safety education, and community partnership.
Art of Kintsugi BAYCC recently hosted a heartwarming community gathering centered around the art of Kintsugi, offering attendees a unique opportunity to build friendships and deepen connections through shared hands-on experiences. The event provided a peaceful and inclusive space where participants could reflect, create, and heal while engaging in meaningful conversations and enjoying a shared meal.
BAYCC and Pacifica Institute, in partnership with Erguvan Art & Academy, hosted a creative and inspiring “Paint With Coffee” Workshop on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the BAYCC Community Center in Santa Clara. The event invited families and art lovers to explore painting with coffee ink as a natural medium, blending creativity with community connection.
On July 19, 2025, our youth team rolled up their sleeves and joined the Pacific Beach Coalition for a community beach clean-up that blended purpose with camaraderie. From high schoolers to recent graduates, our 10-person team brought energy, teamwork, and a shared mission: to care for the planet—together.
